What’s That Bird?

A Shorebird Identification Workshop

Learn how to identify migratory shorebirds through classroom learning and real field experience. Designed for beginners and intermediate bird enthusiasts, this workshop combines observation skills, citizen science, and conservation awareness in one immersive weekend experience.

Why This Workshop Matters

Migratory shorebirds across the East Asian–Australasian Flyway are facing rapid population decline due to habitat loss and human disturbance.

In line with the World Migratory Bird Day 2026 theme, “Every Bird Counts – Your Observations Matter!”, this workshop highlights how public observation and citizen science can contribute to the protection of migratory birds and critical stopover habitats.

Whether you are new to birdwatching or looking to strengthen your identification skills, this workshop aims to build greater appreciation for shorebird conservation through education and field experience.
